Yield: 36 cookies
- ¾ cup butter flavored shortening
- 1¼ Cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1¾ Cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ Teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 egg
Heat oven to 375ºF. Combine shortening, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed of mixer until well blended. Beat in egg.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Mix into creamed mixture just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoon full of dough three inches apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375ºF for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Do not over bake.
Remove cookies to foil to cool.
